Jun 25 - The spark of Messiah in our souls

The spark of Messiah in our souls is the will to redeem reality from the forces of evil that engulf the essence of good within every human being. We are taught that the power of will reflects God's ultimate Omnipotence, and that "nothing stands in the face of will."

Jun 26 - Amalek

Amalek, the arch enemy of Israel, is the 'black hole' of humanity. By wiping out Amalek, we release all of the light and energy that he has devoured (as presently known, it is possible to retrieve lost information from a black hole).

Jun 26 - Iran

Iran is the biblical Persia, which in Hebrew means "reward"  or "part" (of a whole). We are told not to serve God to receive reward, which is but a mere part of the whole, the boundless blessing entailed within every good deed that we do. And so, our present conflict with Iran should be envisioned not only as for the sake of insuring security and redeeming the Iranian people from the hands of the wicked, but as a step towards establishing peace on earth, by revealing to all the infinite goodness of the Creator.

Israel, the purpose of our military intervention in Iran is not only to defend our borders but to assume responsibility to free the Iranian people from the cruel and evil dictatorship that presently rules them. We are to be a light unto the nations, a beacon of peace.

Jun 26 - Faith, Pleasure, Will

Faith is (in) God; Pleasure is (from) Torah; Will is Messiah. Faith, pleasure, and will are the three 'heads' of the supernal crown of the soul.

Jun 26 - love, Fear, Compassion

The three basic emotions of the heart are love, fear, and compassion. They correspond to the three Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Of Abraham God says, "Abraham who loves Me." God is referred to  as "the fear of Issac." Jacob had compassion on his sheep, which, as taught in Kabbalah, were actually the souls of the entire Jewish people to be.

Jul 1 - purify our minds from morbid thoughts of death

How can we today sprinkle the ashes of the Red Heifer over the living waters and thereby purify our minds from morbid thoughts of death (and ultimately  'ressurect' ourselves and begin a new life)? The living waters are the waters of the living Torah. The ashes of the Red Heifer are the ashes of Abraham, who said, "I am dust and ashes." In his burning love for God, he experienced himself turning into ashes. The ashes of Abraham and the Torah of Moses combine to purify our thoughts and enable us to begin living anew.

Jul 3 - the Red Heifer

In this week's Torah reading, the Red Heifer metamorphoses into the Copper Snake. The ashes of the Red Heifer contain the genetic code, the key to the resurrection of the dead, which then manifests as the spiritual remedy to heal the bite of the snake, the bite of death (on both the spiritual plane and the physical plane). First comes the power to purify the defilement that results from death (until, ultimately, purifying death itself, resurrecting the dead). Then comes the power to combat and defeat death before it takes hold of us, thus converting the Primordial Snake, the source of death, into Mashiach, as it is known that "snake" and "Mashiach" possess the identical gematria, 358. The sum of Red Heifer (335) and Copper Snake (1123) is 1458, the double square of 27 (3 to the third. 27 = zach, pure). 27 squared (729) equals the Divine Name Kera Satan, meaning "tear Satan," the angel of death. By tearing Satan to shreds, God kills him forever, and all of his latent power, the power of death,  becomes incorporated in life, in more than life as we now know it, but as "the life of life." For this, God created Satan in the first place!

Jul 18 - The "Three Weeks"

The "Three Weeks" is a time of mourning over the destruction of the Temple. But it is also a time of transformation, transforming darkness into light, bitterness into sweetness, sadness into happiness, destruction into construction, and exile into redemption.

Jul 28 - Shabbat Chazon

On this coming Shabbat, Shabbat Chazon (=Vision, the first word of the Haftarah), each one of us envisions, in one form or another, the Temple of the future. One may see it as a physical structure, another as that which is most precious to him, whether a physical object  (for a relatively immature soul), a beloved individual, or a spiritual state of being (for a more mature soul). The ultimate vision of the Temple of the future is the experience of the Presence of God in our lives (the Temple is the place where we stand "before God"), the experience of His Divine Providence over even the most minute detail of our lives (and all of existence), and His infinite Love for all.

The Arizal teaches that the three letters of the name of the first man, Adam (אדם), that God created in His image, are the initial letters of Adam David Meshiach (אדם דוד משיח), the beginning, middle, and end (goal) of mankind.

When Adam sinned, he was replaced by Abraham (אברהם), whose name begins with the letter א, as does the name Adam (אדם). Just as Adam is the first man, so is Abraham the first man - the first man to believe and cling to one God. The letters of Abraham permute to spell ברא מה, 'He created essence.' The word 'essence' equals (in gematria) 45, which is the value of 'man' (אדם). Man is the essence of creation, reflecting the essence of the Creator (who created man in His image).

That essence became first realized in the person of Abraham, whose name, אברהם, equals 248, which equals "in the image of God" (בצלם אלהים)! Indeed, we are taught that God created Adam through the channel of Abraham's soul!

So now we have the rectified acronym of Adam: Abraham David Mashiach, which together equal 620, the value of "crown" (כתר), corresponding to the 613 commandments of the Torah plus the 7 Rabbinic injunctions (commandments), the 620 pillars that connect heaven to earth.

620 is actually 2.5 times 248, Abraham. The 613 commandments of the Torah are divided into 248 positive commandments (do's) and 365 prohibitions (dont's). The 7 Rabbinic injunctions combine with the 365 prohibitions to become 372 = 1.5 times 248. From this beautiful numerical phenomenon, we learn that the entire Torah is rooted in the soul of Abraham, which then manifests as David, and finally as Mashiach.

Ten Commandments for all mankind:

1. Be receptive and responsive to directives from Above.

2. Try to think only good about others.

3. Watch your words.

4, Be sensitive to the feelings of others.

5. Don't betray.

6. Don't hurt or harm the other in any way.

7. The secret to success: diligence and prayer.

8. Learn something new every day.

9. Keep fit in body and spirit.

10. Love all of creation.

Aug 31 - The king is in the field

The king is in the field. Each one of us has his personal field (of activity). This is the time to go to our field and gaze at the King. The more we concentrate on the King, the better we feel. The King is the source of all healing!
